Cherie, the lady we are staying with is really nice. She drove us to get dinner at a bbq truck. She is very religious and very friendly and helpful. Her house is on a hill overlooking the ocean and there are papaya and banana trees right outside. There is one queen bed we are meant to share. Trent was going to sleep on the floor but I had a panic attack so Trent slept in the bed with me. Roosters and bats woke me up at 5 something a.m. Cherie took us to a car rental place and then we went to a bank and then stopped at McDonald's so I could use the bathroom. Trent and Casey met some ladies who are looking for people to hire and they bought us breakfast, which was really nice.
After that, we found Home Depot and then found the LDS branch building. Lucky for us, the senior missionaries were there so we got to see inside the building.
For the rest of the day, we drove around looking for an apartment or house to rent. We found a perfect apartment complex but there was nothing there available for rent. We saw lots of the island, mostly the east side.
If you're wondering how I'm handling all this, I don't even know how. If I were a child, I'd probably be crying all day and complaining incessantly, maybe screaming a little here and there. It's beautiful for sure but it is also dirty, very expensive and we are underprepared. If we pull this off, it will be a miracle for sure. I do believe that if it's meant to be, things will work out.
Trent waiting to order breakfast at Ft. Lauderdale airport.
Cute, Dr. Seuss houses and scary house skeletons.
Very expensive!
